I lived in the Silicon Valley for over thirty years and I often hear, “You’ve never been to the Winchester Mystery House?” And all I can say is after having read about it, it just never really was a place I wanted to see in person. On the other hand, there is the sore subject of the local beaches. We lived within an hour of the closest beach, yet we only went a handful of times in fifteen years. But in all honesty, I’m not much of a fun-in-the-sun person. Don’t get me wrong – I can enjoy being outdoors – I just don’t like the dehydration or sunburn that follows. One place I continue to hear about is the mystery spot over at Santa Cruz. Which to this day, I still have not been there. I still don’t know why we never just stopped by, being that we were so close. Perhaps it was the finances, the time, the thought of sunburn, or maybe it was just plain old procrastination that kept us from going. Either way, there are still several places I would like to visit – some for the first time and others once again. Some places are local while others are distant, but I’m hoping that I will get to explore new territories or revisit some of my favorite places.
